How to deal with common problems of paper making felt?

Shrinkage, widening, stained by pump... These are common problems when using paper making press felt. What are the reasons and how can we deal with them?

1. Shrinkage

The main reason for shrinkage of press felt is the unstable structure of the base cloth in the production.

Treatment method: loosen the stretch roll, let the pres felt run in a loose state.

2.  Widening

The press felt may become wider after using, this is a normal phenomenon, do not tear by hand,  stop the machine, wait for press felt to dry and cut off the excess part, and then iron the edge.

3. Press felt stained by pulp

New woolen cloth staining is generally because the rough surface of press felt, it might be better after you brush it with copper brush , if the press felt has been used for a period of time,That’s because the fiber is too long, burn it with blowtorch.
