When the wet paper passes through the press roller, the press felt contacts the wet paper and takes on some of the water, helping the wet paper to discharge excess water. The press felt will squeeze the water to the felt surface through its own permeability and compressibility, helping the wet paper to dehydrate evenly before the press roller, and improving the dryness of the paper. The contact between the press felt and the paper in the drying section helps stabilize the paper and prevent wrinkles and deformation, which is crucial to the flatness and drying efficiency of the paper.

According to the structure, paper making press felts can be divided into three categories:

Single layer Press bom felt

It consists of a single layer bottom net and a fiber layer, which can be used for the dehydration and forming stages of low and medium speed paper machines. Its single layer bottom net design provides basic support and water absorption performance, and is suitable for medium and low speed paper machines within 800m/min to produce packaging paper, cultural paper, special paper, etc.

Double layer Press bom felt

Double layer felt can be divided into 1+1 composite felt and double bottom net felt. 1+1 composite felt is made of fiber layers of different materials or processes, which enhances the durability and dehydration performance of the press felt.

The double bottom mesh felt uses a double layer base mesh design, which enhances the strength and stability of the press felt, allowing it to maintain good dehydration performance even during high speed operation.

The double layer press bom felt is suitable for paper machines such as Fourdrinier and stacked wires to produce various paper types of ≧8g/㎡.

Triple layer Press bom felt

Triple layer press bom felt can be divided into 1+2, 2+1 and 1+1+1 and other base net stacking structures. It is flexible in combination and can meet the pressing forms such as vacuum pressing and composite pressing. It can produce packaging paper, cultural paper and special paper, etc. It has the characteristics of stability, pressure resistance, flatness and not easy to deform. This type of press felt can withstand pressure of up to 1000kn/m, and is suitable for paper machine speeds of 300-1000mpm. The press felt weight is 1200-1900gsm.
