The design of the 2.5 layer forming fabrics takes into account a higher fibre retention without loss of dewaterability. This design has a higher fibre support index compared to the two-layer design, which is achieved by the technique of adding additional transverse braided threads to the top of the two-layer wire. This greatly reduces the distance between the top threads and provides better support for fine fibres. The net is used for copying high-grade paper. The 2.5 layer forming fabrics with 16 healds offer higher abrasion resistance and a longer service life.
